Fitting your eyeglasses frame to your shaped face is actually very easy when you get the hang of it. These rules will work for any type of glasses frames, including sunglasses, prescription glasses , progressive glasses, reading glasses and safty glasses.

First, you should determine your face style. One easy way is to ask your relatives or friends. They don’t need to go in to too much detail here. Ask them if your face is shaped more like an oval, square or rectangle, triangle or heart, or if it is round like a circle. You can also take a look in the mirror and decide for yourself.

Second, when you know your face shape, what style eyeglass frame will most compliment it?

For this article we will address the triangle or heart shaped face. This face shape is defined by a broad forehead leading to a more narrow mouth and chin.

You should select a pair of eyeglasses with an eyeglass frame that has a thin rim, avoid heavy bottom rims. This will help to balance out the lower portion of your face and jaw line. Selecting an eyeglasses frame with squared sides that have a vertical element to them will accentuate the overall face shape. For the top portion of the eyeglasses frame, look for angled styles or those that will contour the brow bone.

Third, look for glasses frames where the temples meet the lenses higher up. If the temples contact the glasses frame too low, the glasses frame will ride to high and will not look good. If you select an eyeglasses frame with nose pads, this will help you in adjusting the eyeglass frame height to suit your face.

Now you can shop easily and comfortably for the perfect eyeglass frame for your face.

Have you ever noticed how some people look really great in their eyeglasses? Well, whether they know it or not, that is probably because they have matched eye glasses and face shapes that go together well. It actually is not hard to learn which eye glasses and face shapes will work best together and find out what will be best on your face.

There are a few general rules for understanding eye glasses and face shapes.

The first rule is that the shape of the glasses should contrast the shape of your face.

The second rule is that the size of the frame of the glasses should fit the size of your face.

The first rule is where people seem to have the most problems with eye glasses and face shapes.

People with square faces should compliment the lines of their face with slightly rounded frames.

People with an oval shaped face will have the most options available to them.

People with round faces should look for more angular frames with straight lines.

People with triangular, or heart-shaped faces require a light touch so heavy frames should be avoided.

Another consideration with eye glasses and face shapes is nose shape.

A long nose can appear shorter with a double bridge or high sidebars.

A large nose can be balanced with a large frame that will give the effect of a smaller nose.

A small nose can appear to have better proportions with eyeglasses that have a high nose bar.
